Middleton Place
Dad, Mom, and Rachel came to visit us at the end of March for their Spring Break. It was a really good time to come to Charleston - the weather was nice, and everything was starting to bloom. We also had the opportunity to go to Middleton Place, the plantation with the biggest, most beautiful gardens in Charleston. And we all got in for free - we were able to use some corporate passes from work to get admission to the house & the gardens.
Everything was beautiful - the azaleas were everywhere, in full bloom, in many vibrant colors.
My favorite part was this cranky peacock. We stood there forever trying to get a good picture of him but he just squawked at us & refused to show his feather. So I decided to be sneaky. I hid behind the corner of a building with my lens trained on him. And sure enough, not long after he thought I had left, he fanned his feathers and I had just enough time to snap a really good picture!
